Why Hourly Pricing Almost Always Wins

Flat-rate quotes sound great until your mover 'discovers' extra stairs, a long carry, or a 'larger than expected' inventory. Hourly pricing keeps everyone honest - including you.

You See the Clock

Crews start a timer when they arrive and stop it when they leave. You see every minute that gets billed.

You Control the Cost

Be packed and ready. Label boxes by room. Disassemble what you can. Every shortcut you take saves you real dollars off the bill.

Fair to Small Moves

Studios and 1BRs almost always finish within the 3-hour minimum. You don't get penalized for having less stuff.

Fair to Big Moves

Bigger jobs naturally take more hours, but with a larger crew the hourly rate is offset by faster work.

No Surprise Charges

Stairs, elevators, packing add-ons - all itemized and quoted before we start the clock.

Billed in 15-Minute Increments

After the 3-hour minimum, we bill in quarter-hour increments. You are not paying for a full extra hour because we ran 10 minutes over.

Real Pricing - No Surprises

We charge by the hour and tell you the rate up front. Most jobs finish faster with a bigger crew, so the total often ends up similar either way.

Hourly Moving FAQs - Kansas City

What does $150/hour actually include?+

$150/hour includes 2 professional movers, 1 truck, all dollies and equipment, all furniture pads and blankets, basic shrink wrap, plus loading, transport, and unloading. The only things billed separately are full packing service, fragile-only packing, specialty items (pianos, gun safes), and any storage handling.

Does the clock start when you arrive or when you leave the warehouse?+

Clock starts when the crew arrives at your address and ends when the truck is unloaded at the destination. We do not bill 'drive time' from our base to your house - that is on us.

Is there a maximum number of hours you will quote?+

No max. Large home moves can run 8-12+ hours. We will give you an honest hour range during the quote so you can plan.

What if you finish faster than estimated?+

You pay less. Past the 3-hour minimum, you only pay for the time actually worked. We never round up to inflate the bill.

Why is there a 3-hour minimum?+

Most moves require dispatching a truck, two crew members, fuel, and ~30 minutes of pre/post drive time and setup. The 3-hour minimum covers the basic dispatch cost so we can keep our hourly rate competitive.

Can I hire more movers to finish faster?+

Absolutely - this often saves money. Going from 2 to 3 movers adds $50/hour but typically cuts the total hours by 25-35%. The net cost is often lower.
